Hawaii resident Bill Reeves is a partner in BlueMountain capital management, a New York based hedge fund which manages approximately $14 billion in assets. Outside of his work, Bill Reeves is an active community member and philanthropist leveraging his success, experience, and expertise to the benefit of numerous Hawaii nonprofits, including a number of educational institutions. He serves as a trustee for St. Andrew’s School, and sits on the board of governors of the East West Center, an educational research institution. He is also a member of the investment advisory committee for Kamehameha School.
Bill Reeves cofounded the Learning Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reforming public education in Hawaii, and he has long stressed the importance of access to quality education to ensure the opportunity for upward social mobility for youth who are underprivileged. Along with the Learning Coalition, Mr. Reeves cofounded the HE’E Coalition, a diverse group of stakeholders seeking to identify and pursue opportunities for reform in the Hawaiian education system. Mr. Reeves also donates to the Hawai’i Department of Education, and the Hawai’i Community foundation.
In his spare time, Mr. Reeves enjoys fishing, surfing, stand up paddling, and open water swimming. He is an avid alpine skier and fly fisherman.
